Jennifer Garner was born on April 17, 1972, at Houston, Texas but was born within Charleston, West Virginia. William John Garner was her father. He was also a chemical engineer company called Union Carbide. Patricia Ann was a teacher at the local college. To follow her father, she graduated with a degree in chemical engineering. In order to fulfil her dream to become an actress, she moved in New York. When she was not appearing in Broadway productions, she also worked as a waitress. She played a minor role in the film "Felicity" (where the show was where she first encountered Scott Foley). Garner began her career in Alias the action thriller. Her first big part was in the acclaimed romance 13 Going on 30. The film featured her as a young woman trapped within a 30years old body. Garner picked Gary Winick (director) to direct the film. They looked for new opportunities before Winick's passing in 2011. Garner received the title of artist ambassador in 2009 for Save the Children U.S.A. The program focuses on education, nutrition, and literacy as well as early education. Garner was a member on the organization's board since 2014, serves as an advocate for early education.
